Waters hosts annual Punt, Pass and Kick event

Wednesday, Brian Waters hosted his annual punt, pass, and kick competition for people with special needs at the Chiefs practice facility in conjunction with the Special Olympics. Waters has hosted the competition since the departure of former Chiefs fullback Tony Richardson, who gave the event its start in Kansas City.   Full Story

Tiki Barber was selected the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for October. The two-time Pro Bowl running back helped the Giants go 4-0 last month by rushing for 490 rushing yards on 102 carries (a 4.8-yard average) and catching 13 passes for another 100 yards.   Full Story

The Steelers traded for "Mean" Patrick Cobbs, a running back who led the New England Patriots in rushing this preseason. Cobbs is the all-time leading rusher for the North Texas Mean Green, the school "Mean" Joe Greene put on the football map some 38 years ago.   Full Story

FOXBORO, Mass. -- The New England Patriots announced the release of ten players today as they worked to reduce the roster to meet a league limit of 53 by Saturday. New England also traded rookie running back Patrick Cobbs to the Pittsburgh Steelers for an undisclosed draft pick Cobbs, a preseason playmaker was unlikely to clear waivers should the team have made the attempt.   Full Story
