Linebacker Andy Flusche is pleased with the strong start to his senior season, and he hopes to ride that momentum to his first offer.

Muenster, Texas linebacker Andy Flusche has gotten off to a hot start to his senior season as he hopes to pull in his first college offer.

“We are 5-3 right now, 2-1 in district, and I am averaging about 13 tackles per game or something like that,” Flusche said. “I think my game instincts have become sharper. I don’t have to think anymore, I just react.”

“Whenever the other team is running inside the tackles, I don’t even have to think about it. I just get down hill, and I know what to do. I think that is what I have improved most,” Flusche said.

The 6’3 linebacker would like to stay close to home for his college career, and thus far, he has received the most interest from local teams.

“I have talked to mostly local schools lately. [North Texas], I have talked to the most, and I am going to go down there on Saturday to watch their game,” Flusche said. He also said he has received interest from several smaller schools such as Abilene Christian, Midwestern, and West Texas A&M.

Flusche attended camp this summer at TCU. He said he used to hear from TCU regularly but not since the Horned Frogs underwent a change at linebackers coach.

“Their linebackers coach moved on, and I really just haven’t heard from [TCU] since,” Flusche said.

However, Andy Flusche did say that he feels an offer from North texas may come soon.

“I have not gotten an offer yet, but I feel like I definitely could get one,” Flusche said. “I talk with the defensive coordinator or linebackers coach about once every other week, and whenever I don’t see him at the game.”

The Mean Green will take on Arkansas State Saturday when Flusche takes his official visit.

Flusche hopes that some of his good habits will benefit a team at the next level.

“We got Hudl this year which lets me watch tape on my phone and really helps me plan for games,” the Texas linebacker said. “I have been working a lot in the weight room this year just trying to get bigger and stronger.”

Besides staying close to home, Flusche said that he is looking for a winning attitude that breeds confidence in their team and program.

“Whenever I talk to coaches, I am looking for a winning attitude and confidence in their team,” the Texas linebacker said. “I like more of a family aspect.”
